When I started my business in 2009, I created a Facebook page because that’s what you’re supposed to do. I halfheartedly posted every once in awhile and I invited all my friends to like the page. It never went past 300 fans in 6.5 years. When I re-branded my business and website, I decided that it was time to pull up my big girl panties and start doing all of the things that I teach new entrepreneurs to do.
I started with a small budget – $10 per day – and created my first Facebook like ad. The process was easy enough and on April 19, 2016 I had my first ad heading out. That first ad set netted me about 244 new likes. I had almost doubled my starting point! Almost a month later, I realized that I needed to get my cost per like down, I created a new ad set and delivered it to a new audience. That ad set netted me an additional 221 likes. Feeling like I was getting the hang of it, I started a second ad set a week and a half later. That one really flopped and I shut it down after a few days and netted 53 new eyeballs on the page. My current ad is sitting at 199 new likes.
