The 3 Most Important Rules of Target Marketing

Once upon a time, I used to give Target Market seminars to local entrepreneurs.  Every seminar started the same way – people thought they knew what they were doing and this was going to be 2 of the most boring hours of their life.  Every seminar ended the same way – people coming up to me afterwards telling me that I actually made figuring this shit out fun.  One gent exclaimed that he couldn’t believe that he didn’t know this before. This isn’t going to be a brain dump of my 2 hour sessions, but it’s the 3 cardinal rules that you have to know if you’re going to get started in the right direction.  And my dear, most of you are NOT doing this right at all. RULE #1: Your Target Market Isn’t Everyone With 2 Feet and a Heartbeat My opening line in every seminar is a …

Maximize Your Thank You Page

This is such an easy thing to do, I don’t understand why more people don’t take advantage of the opportunity.  I hate leaving money on the table so optimizing my thank you pages is an incredibly important step no matter what I’m offering my readers. There’s 3 things that should happen on every single thank you page.  Every.  Single.  One.  Confirmation:  you want to confirm whatever transaction just took place.  Thank them for their purchase, thank them for taking the survey, thank them for subscribing. Measuring Conversions:  whether it’s a Facebook ad or your Google Analytics, your thank you page can be used as a measure of a conversion.  When I set up a lead ad in Facebook and optimize it for conversions, the way Facebook knows that it was successful is if that person reaches the thank you page.  The same is true in Google Analytics. Makes Another Offer: …

Creating Perceived Value and Reality

Did you know that you can alter the reality of your buyers? It’s not magic. It’s not some creepy internet marketing method. Unless, of course, you’re a creepy internet marketer kinda guy (or gal) then there’s just no hope for you. So let’s say that you have this fabulous new PDF manual that you want to start selling. On top of everything you need to get in line to launch the book, you also have to think about the experience your customers are going to have when they buy the book. I know what you’re thinking – this isn’t the Ritz freaking Carlton. There’s no experience. It’s a book. {insert dramatic music} Have a seat – we’re going to talk perception. The first time I really started thinking about perception was when I started learning about energy healing and how it helps removes blockages surrounding all sorts of trauma.  {SNORT!}  I …
